HEAVEN'S GATE is part of my watercolor landscape series and features a glorious sunset over North Carolina farmland. This was the view from my father-in-law's farm outside of Pittsboro, NC, a place we visited often. Here we watched out for snakes in the tall grass as we traipsed to the neighbor’s farm to ride horses and pet llamas. Here we listened to red-wing blackbirds and Canada Geese calling across the pond. Here we had meals on the porch and called the cat in for the evening. Here my son learned to drive a tractor.
Vibrant pink and apricot hues spread across the soft green pastures and receding tree line, with a little peek of the neighboring home and paddock fences.
