Some paintings begin with a place I have stood and truly looked at. Others begin with a prayer, a Scripture, a story from nature that will not leave me alone until I paint it.
Weeping Cypress Mango began with Psalm 1—a tree planted by streams of water, bearing its fruit in season.
"There is a Welsh word, hiraeth—a bittersweet longing for something beautiful and formative that time cannot quite erase. My original paintings are an attempt to give that feeling a place to live."
